As a freelance web designer in Kerala, one of the proudest moments in my career.

🌍 From Kerala to the World: How My Web Design Got Featured on CSS Mania & Awwwards

As a freelance web designer based in Kerala, one of the proudest moments in my career came when my work was featured on CSS Mania and Awwwards — platforms known for showcasing the best in global web design.

Back then, I never imagined that a designer from Kerala, working independently, could be recognized on such international platforms. But my curiosity and constant learning pushed me to try something new.

I had been following CSS Mania for a long time — a gallery that features the most creative and technically sound websites from around the world. I used to browse the listings daily, admiring the work of some of the best designers globally. Honestly, I never thought my work would stand a chance among them. But one day, I decided to just submit my website — no expectations, just a small step of courage.

To my surprise, not only did they feature my work — it was selected as “Site of the Day”, and later also recognized in the “Site of the Month” category. The same happened with Awwwards, where design quality, creativity, and compliance with global standards are thoroughly evaluated.

🥇 Why This Meant So Much

At that time, not many designers in Kerala were aware of the W3C standards or international design guidelines. Most were focused on functionality, but rarely thought about standards, creativity, or UX trends followed worldwide.

Achieving this recognition was no accident. I spent countless hours reading design blogs, observing global trends, and practicing high-quality front-end development. In just 15 days, I transformed my concept into a design that met W3C standards and matched international quality expectations.

✍️ Final Thoughts

This recognition was more than just an award. It was a turning point — proving that with keen observationconsistent learning, and passion for your craft, even a solo designer from a small town can earn a place on the world stage.

To all young designers in Kerala and beyond — if you dream big and keep learning, the world will notice your work.
